The Mizell Family is from my hometown in Southern Illinois, and they have played a huge role in my life since as far back as I can remember. Megan and I became friends all the way back to when we were 4 years old! We have gone through every stage of life together. So of course I was beyond honored when she asked me to capture an extended family session in Southern Illinois to commemorate her parent’s 50th wedding anniversary!

Not only did I get the chance to capture this beautiful family, but their session was at Barb and Larry’s beautiful home! I have spent many weekends here when I was growing up and have so many wonderful memories with this family at this incredibly special place. I couldn’t help but get extremely sentimental during the session and ok, I may have been brought to tears the entire time I was editing! There’s just so much love and joy between all of these people.
